A cricketing career now channelled into building yours.
Anand Shelar is the Managing Director and Head Coach of the High-Performance Centre for Cricket (HPCC) in Barshi, Maharashtra — an academy he built to turn rural cricketing talent into state, national and international-standard players. He played for the Solapur District Cricket Association in Maharashtra Cricket Association leagues for five years before moving into coaching.
In 2025, he was appointed Head Coach of the West Indies Masters team in the International Masters League (IML) T20, leading a squad featuring Brian Lara, Chris Gayle and Tino Best — one of the few Indian coaches to lead a team of that calibre. His coaching résumé also includes assistant coaching roles with West Indies Legends (Road Safety World Series, 2021) and South Africa Legends (2022).
